Imperial Eagle Wins the All - American

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—SEPTEMBER 5, 2016—Charles Robinson’s Imperial Eagle scored a game win over The Marfa Lights in the Grade 1, $3-million All American Futurity and jockey Esgar Ramirez became just the fourth rider to score the derby-futurity double in the same year. Ramirez won the Grade 1, $2,415,084 All American Derby on Ec Jet One on Sunday afternoon. The other jockeys to complete the double are Billy Hunt (twice), Juan Vazquez and Ramon Sanchez. qualified for the  Black Gold 350 Futurity on opening day Sept 10, 2010 by turning in a first place in her race.  She also won her race two weeks ago at Louisiana  Downs 

The 10 fastest qualifiers from the Black Gold 350 Futurity trials will meet in the $303,000-est. final on September 25.

The 440-yard action of the Black Gold division comes towards the end of our season.

Closing day will feature the 440-yard, $303,000 Black Gold Futurity Championship (RG3), the $75,000-added Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Mystery Futurity (RG3), and the $25,000-added OHA Mystery Derby (R).

Apolltical Chad won the Grade 1, $1 million Ruidoso Futurity for Quarter Horses in a photo on Sunday, when he edged A Revenant by a head. It was another neck back in third to Tough to Bee.  The race was the first leg of the annual All American Triple Crown series at Ruidoso Downs in New Mexico. Apolltical Chad is now the lone horse eligible for a $4 million bonus awarded to the connections of the horse who can sweep the track’s three major stakes for 2-year-olds: the Ruidoso Futurity, the $1 million Rainbow Futurity on July 24, and the $3 million All American Futurity on Sept. 5.  Apolltical Chad ($6.80) on Sunday broke out at the start and then was in a drive to the wire. He covered 350 yards on a track rated fast in 17.69 seconds.
Adrian Ramos was aboard the winner for trainer Wes Giles.
Apolltical Chad earned $420,000 for his owners, Nueve Racing. He has now won 2 of 3 starts, with his other win a romping, 2 1/4- length victory in his May 27 trial for the Ruidoso Futurity.

Apolltical Chad is gelding by Apolltical Jess, and the February foal was bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley and William Smith.

Nueve Partners of Apolltical Chad

We were at the All American to cheer on Appoltical Chad one of our graduates.  He came out of the gates crooked from the start and had a lot to catch up.. He was closing fast but ended up in 4th place! That's horse racing.  

Labor Day attendance of 24,515 was the second-highest in Ruidoso Downs’ history. Last year, the attendance was a record 24,815. The four-day attendance on Labor Day weekend was 53,854.

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—AUGUST 29, 2016—Nueve Racing’s Apolltical Chad, winner of the Grade 1, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity, brings that stakes-winning experience into the Grade 1, $3-million All American Futurity during a stakes dominated program on Monday at Ruidoso Downs.
The Labor Day program is the final racing day of the summer season. There is a special 12:30 p.m. first post time on Monday.
There is always free parking and free general admission at Ruidoso Downs.
The entertaining Labor Day program also offers the $500,000 All American Juvenile for quarter horses. The thoroughbred stakes are the $152,974 Rio Grande Senor Thoroughbred Futurity and the $50,000 Ruidoso New Mexico-bred Thoroughbred Championship.
Apolltical Chad, a gelding by Apollitical Jess, is owned by a group of nine people from six different states and they have a total of 203 years of experience in horse racing. Their horse moved to the forefront of the two-year-old division when he stepped up and won the Grade 1, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity by a gutty head over A Revenant, who went on to win the Grade 1, $1-million Rainbow Futurity.- See more at:
